And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Rangel!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rangel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Waterford knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rangel on the ground.
Rangel lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Waterford wants to get back to his feet but Rangel is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rangel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rangel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Waterford on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Waterford tries to get out of the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rangel lands a couple of digs.
Waterford thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Waterford is rocked!

Rangel drops back, looking for a kneebar! Waterford looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Waterford looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Waterford!

Oh Waterford is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rangel throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Rangel gets back to half guard.
Waterford seems to have got his legs back now.
Waterford looks to land a strike but Rangel avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Rangel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Waterford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Rangel is tightening it up a little... Waterford has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Waterford reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Waterford taps out! Nice BJJ there by Rangel!
