Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vulcahn Dravezesdi (ranked 1649 p4p, 221 weight class) and Vladimir Rurik (ranked 2247 p4p, 292 weight class). Vladimir Rurik will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dravezesdi connects with a crisp jab.

Rurik cracks Dravezesdi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Rurik has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dravezesdi to stand back up!

Rurik really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dravezesdi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dravezesdi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rurik swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rurik felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
