Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cory Dillon (ranked 6638 p4p, 522 weight class) and Saul Hunter (ranked 23416 p4p, 588 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cory Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Saul Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillon misses the body punch

and Hunter counters with a takedown into side control.
Hunter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dillon keeps working.
Hunter throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Dillon definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Dillon is looking to regain half guard here but Hunter keeps moving and retains side control.

Dillon throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dillon fails to land the takedown.
Dillon misses with a double jab.

Dillon has closed the distance and engaged Hunter in a clinch.

Dillon lands a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dillon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hunter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dillon trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hunter is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dillon is aware though and is defending well.

Dillon slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunter can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hunter is trying to buck Dillon off.

Dillon tries for a kimura but Hunter is defending well.
Dillon lands an elbow.
Hunter is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dillon controlling from side mount.

Dillon in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Hunter is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dillon gets to mount! Hunter was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Dillon wants to control the pace but Hunter is squirming around nicely.

Dillon breaks from Hunter's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dillon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hunter is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dillon connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Dillon throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Dillon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hunter looks a forlorn figure.

Dillon tries to control but Hunter wriggling away.

Dillon is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hunter can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hunter wants to control but Dillon is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dillon goes for an armbar but Hunter turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hunter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cory Dillon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dillon clinches up with Hunter and pushes him back against the cage.
Nice body punch from Hunter.

Hunter is trying to trip Dillon. He has hold of a leg but Dillon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hunter persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Hunter landing with the ground and pound.
Hunter is stalling in the full guard.
Dillon wants to stand up but Hunter is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunter is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hunter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hunter prevents Dillon from getting back to his feet.
Hunter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Dillon controls Hunter momentarily but Hunter frees himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hunter lands a couple of elbows.
Hunter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hunter wants to control from the top but Dillon keeps moving.
Hunter is in close to Dillon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Dillon lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Hunter has his foot on Dillon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dillon works his way back into a safe position though.
Dillon working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hunter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hunter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dillon manages to pass to side control.

Hunter is trying to stand up here but Dillon is controlling him well.
Dillon is trying to control. Hunter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dillon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Dillon is nestled in close to Hunter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dillon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dillon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Hunter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dillon is working away from the top position though.
Hunter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dillon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hunter sees it coming and defends easily.
Hunter is trying to stand back up but Dillon is controlling him

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dillon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dillon seems to be looking for submissions.

Dillon in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hunter tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Dillon!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Cory Dillon!
A determined Cory Dillon didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
