Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Bernie Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Macks! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin misses with a takedown and Macks counters with a three punch combo that has Martin backing up. Martin nods at Macks to acknowledge the strikes. The fight moves into the clinch position. Martin jumps guard but Macks stands there with Martin around his waist. Martin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Macks tries to break free but Martin pushes him back against the cage. Martin prevents the takedown attempt.
Martin taking a breather. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin goes for a takedown attempt but Macks pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bernie Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Macks looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Macks gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Macks leaning his opponent against the cage. Macks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Martin pulls him back up using the underhooks. Macks jumps into guard, dragging Martin to the mat.
Macks looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Macks is pulling down on Martin's head. It's preventing any offense from Martin, at least for the moment. Martin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. That's two minutes gone in the round. Macks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Macks is looking to work some ground and pound but Martin has wrist control. Macks decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martin, up you get! Martin has a takedown stuffed. Macks has managed to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Macks is trying to break the clinch but Martin is controlling him. Martin looking to slow down the pace here. Macks pulls guard successfully.
Martin wants to get up but he can't break Macks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Macks tries to land a sweep but no joy. Martin tries to stand but Macks is controlling from the bottom. Martin preventing the sweep. Macks seems keen to control Martin's posture. Martin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Martin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Martin with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Macks has wrist control.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Macks is pawing at Martin, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Martin's nose. Martin is badly hurt! Macks pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Martin tries desperately to hold on but Macks is relentless in his assault! As Martin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Macks away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Macks!
