These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws a head kick but Samurai moves out of range.
Barnett shoots in looking for a takedown. Samurai tries to sprawl out of it but Barnett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Samurai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Samurai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Barnett throws a counter combo.
Barnett moves into range and clinches up with Samurai.
Samurai wants to break free but Barnett has control.
Barnett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Barnett pushes Samurai up against the cage in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Samurai takes a kick to the side of the head.
