Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ioannis Amanatidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgar Figaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edgar Figaro is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Edgar Figaro!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figaro stuffs the takedown.
Figaro throws a body punch but Amanatidis moves out of range.
Amanatidis shoots in but Figaro avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Figaro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like Ioannis Amanatidis has been cut.

Figaro pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Figaro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Amanatidis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Amanatidis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Amanatidis drops back looking for a leg! Figaro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Figaro manages to kick Amanatidis off! Amanatidis jumps back into Figaro's guard.

Figaro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Amanatidis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Figaro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Amanatidis's back instead.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Edgar Figaro will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Amanatidis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Figaro.

Figaro is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Figaro is trying for a kimura here. Amanatidis looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Figaro wins by kimura!
