PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tap Out (ranked 8343 p4p, 679 weight class) and Vladimir Punchsky (ranked 8847 p4p, 691 weight class). Vladimir Punchsky will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tap Out!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vladimir Punchsky!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Out shoots for a double leg takedown but Punchsky sprawls well. He's pushed Out's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Punchsky lands a two punch combo.

Oooooh!!! Punchsky has knocked Out down with a huge combo! Punchsky steps away and waves a wobbly Out back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Out is rocked!


It looks like Tap Out has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Out scores with a nice strike.
Out bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Punchsky's head.
Some wild striking there from Punchsky.
Out could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Out fakes the leg kick and cracks Punchsky in the body.
Out connects with a body shot that sends Punchsky's belly button to the back.
Punchsky is looking to clinch.

Out drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Out stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Punchsky swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Out is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Out passes Punchsky's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Out wants to pass the guard but Punchsky is defending well.
Out is keen to just control but Punchsky is a slippery customer.

Out is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Punchsky sees it coming and defends easily.

Out is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Punchsky is just riding it out for now. Out eventually gives up the hold.
Punchsky is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Out is looking to stall here but Punchsky recovers full guard.
Out trying to control but Punchsky is working from the bottom.
Out passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Out trying to control the action but Punchsky is working from the bottom.

Out wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Punchsky, who protects the arm well.

Out wants to lay and pray for a moment but Punchsky keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tap Out will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tap Out's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Punchsky fails to land with a series of punches.
Out shoots in and drives through. Punchsky sprawls well.

Out fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Punchsky sprawls well initially but Out persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Out definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Out is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Punchsky defends it well.

Out is working for a submission of some sort.

Out is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Punchsky is just riding it out for now. Out eventually gives up the hold.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Out is looking for a kimura but Punchsky is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Out to get the leverage.

Out looking for a submission but Punchsky manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Punchsky wants to get back to his feet but Out is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Out drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Out jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tap Out overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Out stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Punchsky swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Out postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Punchsky is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Out, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Punchsky throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Out looking for a sweep. Not yet Out, not yet.
Out is trying to hold Punchsky in close to prevent damage but Punchsky has managed to pass into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Out manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Punchsky tries to free his leg and advance position but Out is retaining full guard.

Out is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Out looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Punchsky gets to his feet. Out looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Punchsky swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Out.
Punchsky stalks Out and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Out's face. Out staggers backwards, shaken.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tap Out will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Punchsky looks to land a combination but Out avoids it well.
Out fails to land the takedown.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Out is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Punchsky is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Out is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Punchsky knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Out, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
