PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Jones (ranked 7569 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keijo Kekluttaja (ranked 6739 p4p, 0 weight class). Keijo Kekluttaja will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sebastian Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keijo Kekluttaja!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kekluttaja closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jones is trying to pull guard but Kekluttaja turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Jones takes an elbow to the forehead.
Jones tries to pull guard but Kekluttaja holds him up against the cage and eventually Jones drops back down to his feet.
Jones really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kekluttaja with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kekluttaja tries to kick Jones off in order to stand up. Jones Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Kekluttaja lands an elbow just above Jones 's eye.
Jones wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kekluttaja has him pressed against the cage.

Kekluttaja breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kekluttaja looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Kekluttaja tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.

It looks like Sebastian Jones has been cut.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Kekluttaja is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.

That was a close round but I would say that Sebastian Jones will probably get the nod.

Kekluttaja felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Jones scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kekluttaja is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Jones can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
