Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir Jr (ranked 3212 p4p, 300 weight class) and Jeremy Pettis (ranked 4149 p4p, 366 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mir Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremy Pettis! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir Jr takes a swing at Pettis's ribcage but misses. Pettis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Mir Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pettis tries to counter by closing the distance. Mir Jr connects with a body shot. Pettis keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mir Jr. Pettis is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Mir Jr swings for the body but Pettis moves out of range.
Mir Jr throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Pettis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Mir Jr throws out a loose jab but Pettis uses good head movement to avoid it. Mir Jr swinging wildly here.
Mir Jr sets himself, and Pettis steps forward looking for the clinch! Mir Jr avoids it this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mir Jr throws a head kick but Pettis moves out of range.
Mir Jr connects with an inside leg kick. Mir Jr throws a lazy uppercut
and Pettis counters with a lovely shot to the body.

letting Pettis counter with a right hand. Mir Jr tries to land a body kick and Pettis counters with a stiff right hand. Mir Jr throws a lazy uppercut
and Pettis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mir Jr misses with a head kick.
Mir Jr goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Pettis tries to counter by closing the distance. Mir Jr lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mir Jr throws a wild body kick that Pettis sees coming a mile off. Pettis steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mir Jr. Mir Jr misses with the body kick and Pettis counters with a lovely straight right hand! An inside leg kick from Mir Jr misses. Mir Jr sets himself, and Pettis steps forward looking for the clinch! Mir Jr avoids it this time. Pettis ducks under a wild hook from Mir Jr. It seemed like Pettis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Mir Jr throws a sloppy head kick and Pettis moves out of range easily. Pettis wants to counter with a clinch but Mir Jr pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir Jr tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mir Jr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pettis blocks a jab. Mir Jr sets himself, and Pettis steps forward looking for the clinch! Mir Jr avoids it this time. Frank Mir Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mir Jr misses with a shot to the body and Pettis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mir Jr with a jab. Mir Jr misses the body punch and Pettis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Mir Jr misses with a hook to the body
and Pettis counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mir Jr fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Mir Jr misses with a looping right. Pettis wants to counter with a clinch but Mir Jr pushes him away. Mir Jr lands with a nice body kick. Mir Jr throws an off balance right hand
letting Pettis counter with a right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir Jr looks to throw the jab but Pettis is out of range. Mir Jr throws a lazy uppercut
and Pettis counters with a straight right hand. Pettis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Pettis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mir Jr. Mir Jr misses with an uppercut
and Pettis counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pettis is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Mir Jr had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Some bone on bone action there as Pettis checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Pettis tries to counter by closing the distance. Mir Jr scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mir Jr stuns Pettis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Mir Jr throws a hook to the side of Pettis's head but Pettis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mir Jr misses with a hook. Pettis wants to counter with a clinch but Mir Jr pushes him away. Mir Jr jabs Pettis to the body, keeping him at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Pettis. Pettis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pettis! But no joy. Mir Jr swings for the body but Pettis moves out of range.
Pettis throws out a counter right but Mir Jr avoids it with no problem. Pettis blocks a head kick by Mir Jr.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mir Jr throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Pettis counters with a stiff right hand. Mir Jr throws a poor cross that misses
and Pettis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mir Jr misses with a straight right. Pettis ducks under a wild hook from Mir Jr. Mir Jr sets himself, and Pettis steps forward looking for the clinch! Mir Jr avoids it this time. Mir Jr throws an off balance right hand
and Pettis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mir Jr throws a looping overhand right but Pettis ducks down to avoid it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frank Mir Jr will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Nice shot lands for Mir Jr. Mir Jr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pettiss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Pettis avoids a kick to the body.
Mir Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pettis was well out of range. Poor timing from Mir Jr. Pettis unleashes a big counter combination but Mir Jr bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Pettis has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mir Jr finds it's way round the side to connect with Pettis's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mir Jr throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Pettis throws a counter combo. Mir Jr throws a body kick that misses. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Pettis might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Mir Jr has got the better of the exchanges. Mir Jr throws a sloppy body shot
and Mir Jr takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mir Jr tries to land a body kick and Pettis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mir Jr throws a head kick that misses and Pettis counters with a nice uppercut. Pettis might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Mir Jr stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Nice defenses there by Pettis. Pettis swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Mir Jr throws an off balance right hand
and Pettis counters with a nice uppercut. Mir Jr throws a body punch but Pettis moves out of range. Mir Jr throws a right hand that misses
enabling Pettis to counter with a crisp jab.
Mir Jr is rocked! Mir Jr misses the body punch and Pettis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Oh Mir Jr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mir Jr misses with a hook
and Pettis scores with a counter punch that sends Mir Jr to the canvas! Pettis smells blood - he's punishing Mir Jr with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Mir Jr has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
