PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor McGregor (ranked 1584 p4p, 165 weight class) and Larson Picker (ranked 1372 p4p, 144 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McGregor might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Foggy Dew / El Chapo. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor McGregor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Larson Picker!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGregor has managed to clinch.
Picker blocking some punches.
McGregor goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Picker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McGregor has him pressed against the cage.

Picker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Picker lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
McGregor misses with an uppercut. Picker saw that one coming.
Picker lands with a nice body punch.
Picker scores with a body shot.
Picker throws a jab when McGregor was well out of range.
Larson Picker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGregor tries to move into range but Picker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Picker gets caught flat footed, as McGregor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Picker manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
McGregor throws a punch but it's blocked by Picker.
Picker tries to break the clinch but McGregor is controlling the position.
McGregor lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Picker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGregor throws a body kick that misses.
McGregor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Picker paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Picker looks to land a left hand but McGregor moved out of range nicely.
Crunch! McGregor slams his shin into Picker's torso.
Picker connects with a single shot there.

McGregor feints and as Picker raises his hands in defense, McGregor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Picker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McGregor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Picker has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. McGregor is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
McGregor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Picker pulls him back up using the underhooks.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Picker.
Picker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Picker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice defenses there by McGregor.
McGregor motions for Picker to come forward. McGregor throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
McGregor looks to score with a jab to the body but Picker is just out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Picker scores with a punch to the head.
Picker tests McGregor's chin there with a solid looking shot.
McGregor on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Larson Picker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGregor moves out of range of the strikes.
A big right from Picker misses.
Picker on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Picker steps in with a hook that catches McGregor right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Picker follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! McGregor looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Larson Picker!
Larson Picker gave a mention to Humanoid Nutrition (160Q for 180$) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
In defeat, Conor McGregor stepped up to the mic, saying 'You win or you learn. I am humble in victory or defeat, and I will be back.'.
