Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ken Cornwall! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cornwall sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Cornwall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Parker is trying to stand back up but Cornwall is controlling him
Parker makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Parker moves into range and clinches up with Cornwall. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Parker lands a knee to the body.
Parker is looking to break free of the clinch but Cornwall has double underhooks. Parker misses with an elbow over the top. Cornwall scores with an uppercut up the middle. Parker missing with knees to the body.

Cornwall works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Cornwall passes into half guard. Cornwall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Parker defends it well. Cornwall looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Cornwall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Parker tries to kick Cornwall off but Cornwall keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cornwall is trying to control the action in half guard but Parker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cornwall passes to full mount! Cornwall wants to finish this one by submission but Parker is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cornwall. Cornwall goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Parker is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cornwall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cornwall working for submissions but it's allowed Parker to get to half guard.
Cornwall actively working from the bottom here. Cornwall slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cornwall looking for a guillotine here but Parker defends easily.
Parker wants to stand but Cornwall is controlling his posture from full guard. Parker gets to his feet - Cornwall follows without any prompting. Cornwall has closed the distance and engaged Parker in a clinch.

Cornwall fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Cornwall jumps guard but Parker stands there with Cornwall around his waist. Cornwall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parker has had enough of the clinch but Cornwall keeps him there for the moment. Parker stops a takedown attempt from Cornwall.
Peter Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Cornwall. Cornwall keeps control of Parker as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Parker missing with knees to the body.

Parker unloads a knee to the mid-section. Cornwall lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Parker is trying to break the clinch but Cornwall has him pressed against the cage. Cornwall trying to control the position but instead, Parker has worked for underhooks and has pushed Cornwall into the cage. Parker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Parker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cornwall has managed to clinch.
Parker using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cornwall has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Cornwall pulls guard. Parker trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cornwall's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Peter Parker will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Cornwall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Cornwall lands a jab to the head.
Peter Parker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Parker rushes Cornwall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cornwall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Parker smiles and moves away.
Cornwall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Parker as he jumps to the side. Peter Parker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Cornwall. Parker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cornwall, pushing him back against the cage. Cornwall swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parker lands a nice knee to the body. Parker tries to land knees in the clinch but Cornwall avoids the damage to the body. Cornwall gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parker is looking to stand up but Cornwall isn't so interested in that idea. Cornwall stands and throws Parker's legs to the side, diving into side control. Cornwall goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Parker rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cornwall's guard! Nice work there by Parker! Cornwall wants to improve his position but instead Parker has moved into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cornwall looking for submissions off his back. Cornwall looking for submissions off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cornwall with the active half guard here but Parker passes nicely into side control. Parker has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Cornwall blocks the body kick.
Parker looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Peter Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cornwall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Some bone on bone action there as Cornwall checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Cornwall darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Cornwall is just content to waste time from the top position. Parker takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Parker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cornwall on the ground. Cornwall drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Parker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cornwall has Parker in his guard. Cornwall looking for a guillotine here but Parker defends easily.

Cornwall can't keep hold of the triangle and Parker manages to pass to side control! Parker decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cornwall to his feet. Cornwall blocks a head kick by Parker.
Parker wants to clinch but Cornwall slips to the side so Cornwall counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ken Cornwall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Parker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Parker wants to clinch and Cornwall counters with a shoot takedown. Parker fights it but they end up in guard. Cornwall is pushing down on Parker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Parker is fighting to maintain full guard but Cornwall has managed to sneak the leg through. Cornwall is working for a submission of some sort.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cornwall is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Parker has managed to free his arm - good work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cornwall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Parker defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cornwall wants to control but Parker is keeping him busy. Cornwall trying to advance position but Parker counters by regaining guard. Cornwall is looking to advance position but Parker has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Parker stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Parker throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cornwall counters with a nice double leg into guard. Parker is looking to stand up but Cornwall isn't so interested in that idea. Cornwall trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cornwall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parker is keeping the position for now. Parker wants to stand and escape but Cornwall is having none of it. Cornwall drops back looking for a leg! Parker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parker manages to kick Cornwall off! Cornwall jumps back into Parker's guard. Cornwall is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Parker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Parker has escaped and now he's on top! Cornwall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Parker has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Cornwall to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Parker is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Cornwall pulls down on the head and he's put Parker to sleep! This one is all over!
