Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Mighty Quinn (ranked 313 p4p, 42 weight class) and Trenton Funkhouser (ranked 727 p4p, 105 weight class). Quinn comes to the cage accompanied by Mighty Quinn. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Mighty Quinn! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trenton Funkhouser! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funkhouser feints and as Quinn raises his hands in defense, Funkhouser changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Funkhouser sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Quinn's guard. Funkhouser passes the guard and advances to mount! Quinn blocking the ground and pound. Quinn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Funkhouser on the ground. Funkhouser wants to control the pace but Quinn is squirming around nicely. Funkhouser seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Quinn is holding on tight.
Poor strikes thrown by Funkhouser there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quinn is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Funkhouser is looking to work his way around to Quinn's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Funkhouser is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Quinn to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Quinn shrugs it off. Funkhouser trying to control but Quinn is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Funkhouser is looking to take a break and control but Quinn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Funkhouser prevents Quinn from escaping the position. Funkhouser with the ground and pound but Quinn regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Funkhouser looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Funkhouser throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Funkhouser is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Quinn! Funkhouser punching from mount but Quinn doing a good job of avoiding damage. Funkhouser looking to control but Quinn is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Quinn connects with a solid leg kick. Quinn tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Funkhouser is able to avoid easily. Funkhouser looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Quinn is trying to stand up here but Funkhouser is controlling him well. Funkhouser is working for a submission of some sort.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Funkhouser accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Quinn wants to stand and escape but Funkhouser is having none of it. Funkhouser advances to half guard. Quinn is not content to let Funkhouser control the position. Funkhouser throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Funkhouser wants to advance to full mount but Quinn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Funkhouser wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving. Quinn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Funkhouser won't allow Quinn to get back to his feet. Funkhouser wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Funkhouser misses with a takedown and Quinn counters with a stiff right hand. Funkhouser fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Quinn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Quinn misses with a right hand enabling Funkhouser to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Funkhouser shoots for a takedown but Quinn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Funkhouser takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Quinn misses the shot to the body. Funkhouser with the counter takedown but Quinn avoids it easily. Funkhouser manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Quinn on his heels. He'll look to pass Quinn's guard now, I'm sure. Quinn wants to stand but Funkhouser has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Quinn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Funkhouser is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Funkhouser is taking a breather. Quinn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Funkhouser slips a nice elbow through Quinn's hands, connecting with Quinn's forehead. Funkhouser is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quinn defends it well. Quinn is trying to stand back up but Funkhouser is controlling him

Trenton Funkhouser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Quinn misses with a body punch
and Funkhouser connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Funkhouser looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Quinn feinted there with a counter leg kick. Funkhouser fails to land the takedown. Funkhouser has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Funkhouser shoots in and bounces Quinn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Quinn keeping moving, preventing Funkhouser from controlling successfully.

Funkhouser moves into full mount! Funkhouser wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Quinn is squirming around, avoiding Funkhouser's attempts to control the action.

Quinn is in trouble now - Funkhouser has advanced to mount! Quinn has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Quinn is trying to get back to his feet but Funkhouser has full control of the position and if anything, Quinn has just worked his way into a worse spot. Quinn is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Trenton Funkhouser really dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Funkhouser is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Quinn's shoulder. That is not cool. Funkhouser prevents Quinn from escaping the position. Funkhouser throws an elbow but Quinn slips to the side and avoids it well. Quinn is trying to get back to his feet. Quinn wants to control but Funkhouser postures up. Funkhouser wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Quinn, who protects the arm well. Funkhouser tries to advance to mount but can't.

Funkhouser is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Quinn knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Quinn for a finish. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Funkhouser tries to keep control of the position but Quinn is staying busy. Trenton Funkhouser dominated that fourth round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
A swing and a miss from Quinn. A nice side step and Funkhouser releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Quinn connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Funkhouser checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Quinn cracks Funkhouser with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Quinn connects with a crisp jab. Quinn falls off balance throwing a combination

Quinn jabs Funkhouser to the body, keeping him at a distance. Quinn misses with a straight right. Funkhouser looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Funkhouser closes the distance and clinches up with Quinn, looking for a takedown. Funkhouser pushes Quinn against the cage but Quinn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Quinn feinted there with a counter leg kick. Funkhouser staying out of range there. Funkhouser appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Quinn rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Funkhouser counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The Mighty Quinn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Quinn looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Funkhouser fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Quinn lands a leg kick that knocks Funkhouser off balance momentarily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Quinn throws a leg kick but Funkhouser moved away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Quinn takes a swing at Funkhouser's ribcage but misses. Quinn moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromFunkhouser. Quinn misses with a low kick. A little jabbing left from Funkhouser on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Quinn closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Quinn misses with a left hand and Funkhouser counters with a straight right hand. Quinn blocks a low kick nicely. Quinn is looking to counter punch. Trenton Funkhouser is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Funkhouser passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Quinn!
