Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Ashley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roi Asher! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Asher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ashley is looking to clinch. Asher throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Asher forces Ashley back against the cage and clinches. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Asher's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Asher throws a lazy head kick and Ashley counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Asher jumps into guard, dragging Ashley to the mat.
Asher throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Asher is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Asher passes easily into side control. Nice work. Asher decides to take the fight back to the feet. Asher feints and as Ashley raises his hands in defense, Asher changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Asher slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Ashley trying to control the position.
Asher decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Asher throws a sloppy head kick and Ashley moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ashley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Asher circles away. Asher steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Ashley. Asher shoots in and gets a takedown into Ashley's guard. Ashley working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Asher has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Asher has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Ashley swats away the attempt to clinch by Asher. Ashley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Asher drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Asher in side control, throwing shots but Ashley defends. Ashley wants to control but Asher postures up. Ashley is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Ashley is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Asher is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Asher is trying to get an arm triangle but Ashley is defending well. Asher decides to stand back up. Asher steps back and let's Ashley get back to his feet. Ashley is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Asher closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ashley tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Asher manages to move to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roi Asher dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Asher tries a head kick but it misses.
Asher throws a right hand that Ashley ducks under and follows up with a left that Ashley also avoids with ease. Ashley half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Asher swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ashley counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Asher! Asher throws Ashley to one side and escapes! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Asher decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Asher is thwarting Ashley's attempts to control the position. Asher has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Asher trying to control the pace. Ashley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Asher on the ground.

Ashley wants to control but Asher passes into side.
Asher controls the position. A control attempt from Ashley but he's now mounted! Ashley tries to hold on but Asher postures up. Ashley is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Asher controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Asher dominating with strikes here. Ashley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Asher tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Asher is continuing to stall. Asher punching from mount but Ashley doing a good job of avoiding damage. Asher lands a big shot there that rocks Ashley but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Asher landing strikes from the mount. Ashley is in all sorts of trouble here.

Asher misses with a head shot. Asher is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ashley can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Ashley is rocked! Asher lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ashley hang on? Oh Ashley is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Asher controlling from mount. Asher loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Ashley scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Asher land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Asher stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roi Asher!
