Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Garcia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rick Lo! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lo drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Lo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Garcia wants to get back to his feet. Lo tries to move into full mount but can't pass Garcia's legs. Lo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Garcia! Poor strikes thrown by Lo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Garcia is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lo. Lo fails to advance to Garcia's back. Lo throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Garcia because Lo loaded up on that one. Garcia is trying to stand up. Lo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lo unloads with some shots from mount but Garcia bucks and avoids them well.
Lo looking to ground and pound but Garcia is blocking nicely. Garcia wants to try and get back to his feet. Lo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lo wants to take Garcia's back but he can't do it this time. Lo looking to control but Garcia is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Lo looking to control and managing it successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lo is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Lo extends the arm and Garcia is forced to tap!
