Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Shepard (ranked 8963 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kilim Brutal (ranked 6148 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aldo Shepard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kilim Brutal!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard scores with a crisp jab that stopped Brutal in his tracks.

Brutal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shepard, pushing him back against the cage.
Brutal misses with a hook to the ribs.

Brutal jumps guard and drags Shepard to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Shepard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Shepard trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Shepard looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Brutal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shepard is in close to Brutal's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Brutal can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Shepard controls the pace.

Shepard tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brutal just stands there and leans against the cage.

Brutal told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Shepard jumps guard and drags Brutal to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Shepard wants to get back to his feet but Brutal is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Brutal trying to control the position from guard on top but Shepard is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Brutal looking to sit in guard and control but Shepard gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shepard stops Brutal from standing up.
Shepard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shepard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Shepard throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brutal works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Shepard is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Shepard's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Shepard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shepard with a flurry of punches that miss.
Shepard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shepard throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Brutal.
Brutal looks winded!
Shepard tries to escape but Brutal is in control.
Brutal lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Shepard sneaks back into half guard.
Shepard punching from the bottom.
Shepard is looking to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shepard throws a strike from the bottom but Brutal passes into side control!
Shepard regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Aldo Shepard will probably get the nod.

Brutal wants to clinch but Shepard slips to the side

and Shepard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Brutal won't be happy with that.
Brutal seems a little lost for a moment, as Shepard dominates the positioning.
Shepard tries to stand but Brutal controls the position and pulls Shepard into his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shepard wants to stand but Brutal is controlling his posture from full guard.

Brutal tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shepard wants to stand but Brutal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brutal is breathing heavily.
Shepard circles away from the clinch attempt

and Shepard counters with a takedown into side control.
Brutal wants to control but Shepard postures up.
Shepard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Brutal sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brutal can do anything to dispel that myth.

You can see the frustration on Brutal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Brutal is working to avoid the ground and pound but Shepard connects with a decent elbow.

Shepard is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Brutal's shoulder. That is not cool.

Shepard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brutal does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shepard takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Shepard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brutal defends it well.
Well, if Shepard is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kilim Brutal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brutal drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Shepard has his feet on Brutal's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Brutal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shepard was covering up waiting for the punch and Brutal finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Shepard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brutal is one step ahead there.
Shepard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brutal's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
