Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Simmons (ranked 7879 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Horowitz (ranked 6541 p4p, 0 weight class). Horowitz has chosen Horowitz theme as his entrance music. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Ben Simmons has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Barry Horowitz!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horowitz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Simmons.
Both fighters circling a little - Simmons finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Horowitz looks winded!
Simmons scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Barry Horowitz has been cut.
Simmons moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Simmons closes the distance and clinches up with Horowitz, looking for a takedown. Simmons pushes Horowitz against the cage but Horowitz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Simmons dives in for a single leg takedown but Horowitz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ben Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simmons takes the fight into the clinch.

Simmons wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horowitz wants the takedown. Simmons is fighting it off but Horowitz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Simmons's guard against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Horowitz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Simmons will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Simmons knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Horowitz on the ground.

Simmons tries to score with a low kick but Horowitz moves his leg out of the way.
Simmons gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Horowitz to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Horowitz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Simmons working a defensive guard but Horowitz manages to pass into side control anyway.
Horowitz is working to tighten his grip on Simmons's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Simmons has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Horowitz is really squeezing tight and eventually Simmons passes out! Horowitz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Barry Horowitz!
Barry Horowitz opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
