Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Bale (ranked 1238 p4p, 174 weight class) and Taite Abrams (ranked 2372 p4p, 315 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Bale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taite Abrams!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bale throws a series of punches but Abrams avoids them all with ease.
Bale throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Abrams is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Bale swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Bale lands a jab to the head.
Abrams takes a swing at Bale's ribcage but misses.
Abrams connects with a jab.
Abrams ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Abrams gets tackled into the cage by Bale. Bale maintains the clinch.
Abrams creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Bale's defenses.


It looks like Tony Bale has been cut.
Abrams lands an elbow that stopped Bale in his tracks for a moment.
Abrams missing with knees to the body.
Bale has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Bale scores with a shoulder strike.
Bale blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Abrams working aggressively here.

Abrams digs a right hand into Bale's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bale's gas tank.
Bale is pushing Abrams up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Bale breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bale tries to bum rush Abrams with a series of wild strikes but Abrams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Bale avoids the head kick by Abrams.
Bale throws a poor cross that misses
and Abrams counters with a straight right hand.

Bale moves into the clinch successfully.
Abrams fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Abrams just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bale's brow.

Bale breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Abrams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Abrams tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Bale is able to avoid easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Abrams throws a head kick that misses.
Taite Abrams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bale drops Abrams with a left right combo! Bale follows him down to the ground into side control.


It looks like Taite Abrams has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bale stands up.
Bale looks to score with a jab to the body but Abrams is just out of range.
Abrams swings for the body but Bale moves out of range.
Abrams throws a sloppy head kick
and Bale counters with a straight right hand.

Bale forces Abrams back against the cage and clinches.
Bale avoids a wild elbow strike from Abrams.
Bale putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Abrams in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Abrams looks winded!

Bale digs a right hand underneath Abrams's ribcage. Abrams let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Abrams misses with a hook to the ribs.
Abrams throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Bale's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Abrams misses with a head kick.

A right-left combo lands from Bale.
No joy there for Bale, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bale uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


Abrams is rocked!
Abrams moves away from the strike by Bale.
Abrams takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Abrams on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Abrams is still on wobbly legs! Can Bale finish him?
Bale misses with an uppercut. Abrams saw that one coming.
Abrams seems to have recovered his senses.

Abrams throws a nice looking combination but Bale bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A little feinted left hand from Bale on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Abrams ducks straight into an uppercut from Bale and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Abrams manages to regain guard straight away.

Bale tries to stand but Abrams is controlling from the bottom.
Bale postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Our spies down at at Roosters Coop inform us that Abrams has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Bale trying to control the position from guard on top but Abrams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bale thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bale missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Abrams thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Abrams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bale defends well.
Bale is looking to work some ground and pound but Abrams has wrist control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abrams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bale trying to stand up but can't free himself from Abrams's guard.

Abrams is looking for a triangle but Bale pushes his legs off easily.

Bale stands up from Abrams's guard - Bale perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bale takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bale tries for a takedown but Abrams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bale throws a right hand that Abrams ducks under and follows up with a left that Abrams also avoids with ease.
Tony Bale is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nice defenses there by Abrams.
Bale shoots for a double leg takedown but Abrams sprawls well. He's pushed Bale's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bale throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Abrams.
Abrams swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bale is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Abrams can do to turn this around?
Abrams walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Bale gets tackled into the cage by Abrams. Abrams maintains the clinch.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Abrams in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Abrams tries to land knees in the clinch but Bale avoids the damage to the body.
Bale gets through Abrams's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Nice straight punches there by Bale. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bale.
Abrams tries to clinch but Bale is having none of it.
Bale is looking to clinch but Abrams is avoiding it.

Abrams throws a half hearted mid kick.
Bale misses with a body kick.
Abrams fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Bale feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Abramss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Bale looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bale prevents Abrams from standing back up.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Abrams is breathing heavily.
Bale wants to lay and pray for a moment but Abrams keeps working.

Abrams wants to improve his position but Bale is controlling well.
Abrams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Abrams is working an open guard so Bale takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Abrams throws an overhand right that lands on Bale's shoulder, as Bale tries to avoid the shot.
Bale throws a big counter combination but Abrams scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Bale throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bale jabs Abrams to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Taite Abrams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bale avoids the head kick by Abrams.
Bale fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bale looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Bale comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bale dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Abrams checks a leg kick.
Bale shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bale lands a leg kick that knocks Abrams off balance momentarily.
Bale lands a jab to the head.
Abrams has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Bale finds it's way round the side to connect with Abrams's head.
Bale is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Abrams like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Abrams from another fist facial!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Bale!
Tony Bale decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
