And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tonaka Watawaka!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rome walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rome misses with an uppercut.
Watawaka throws a series of punches but Rome avoids them all with ease.
Rome tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Watawaka is able to avoid easily.
Watawaka cracks Rome with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Rome closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Watawaka to the mat! Watawaka manages to get full guard.
Watawaka wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rome manages to pass to side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Watawaka is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rome scores with a couple of nice shots.

Rome has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rome stops Watawaka from getting back to his feet.
Rome takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Jake Rome spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
