Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elton Turner (ranked 23943 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tafari Mokonen (ranked 6212 p4p, 0 weight class). Elton Turner has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elton Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tafari Mokonen! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Turner. Mokonen shoots in and gets a takedown into Turner's guard. Mokonen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Mokonen landing with the ground and pound. Turner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mokonen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Let's hope that Mokonen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Turner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mokonen escapes and throws Turner's legs to the side, diving into side control! Mokonen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Turner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Mokonen happy to just control the position for now. Mokonen cracks Turner with a big right hand but Turner just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mokonen taking a breather here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Turner taking punishment in the form of punches.
Mokonen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mokonen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Turner is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Turner is pushing Mokonen's head away, looking to escape. Mokonen manages to hold on to the position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mokonen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Mokonen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Mokonen stands up and beckons Turner to his feet. Turner shoots in for a takedown but Mokonen shows good takedown defense. Mokonen gets a takedown into half guard. Turner is trying to escape back to his feet but Mokonen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mokonen controlling from side mount. Check out the look on Mokonen's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Mokonen stands up and we're back to a striking position. Mokonen gets a takedown into half guard. Turner pushes Mokonen off but Mokonen dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tafari Mokonen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mokonen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mokonen pushing down on Turner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Mokonen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Mokonen decides to stand up. Mokonen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Turner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mokonen closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Turner quickly recovers to half guard. Mokonen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mokonen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mokonen passes to full mount! Mokonen looking for a guillotine from mount but Turner is having none of it. Mokonen lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Turner hang on? Mokonen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mokonen controlling from the full mount. Mokonen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. A nice elbow there by Mokonen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mokonen controlling his opponent. Mokonen forces the positional change into back control. A bit of a pause in the action here. Mokonen controlling the positon. Mokonen is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Turner with him. Turner is trying to defend but Mokonen has an arm under the chin now! Turner grimaces and is forced to tap out!
