The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
�bensplikt slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Ryan Griffin has been cut.
�bensplikt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Griffin looking for a guillotine here but �bensplikt defends easily.
�bensplikt keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Griffin's head.

Griffin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but �bensplikt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Griffin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. �bensplikt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
�bensplikt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Griffin is looking for a triangle but �bensplikt pushes his legs off easily.

�bensplikt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
�bensplikt lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Griffin has momentary wrist control but �bensplikt slips an elbow through the middle.
Ryan Griffin's cut is getting worse.
Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
�bensplikt tries to free his leg and advance position but Griffin is retaining full guard.
�bensplikt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
�bensplikt pushing down on Griffin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
�bensplikt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
�bensplikt seems to be working for a kimura but Griffin defends the submission attempt.
