Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yoshi Takano (ranked 1533 p4p, 178 weight class) and Eddy Bengtsson (ranked 2731 p4p, 312 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eddy Bengtsson! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bengtsson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Takano appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Bengtsson closes the distance and clinches. Takano controlling the action here for a moment.

Takano is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Bengtsson tries to work over Takano's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Takano works on Bengtsson's body with a couple of short punches. Bengtsson misses with a punch on the inside.
Bengtsson lands with a left to the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice body punch from Bengtsson - that landed with a thud.

It looks like Eddy Bengtsson has been cut. Takano lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bengtsson backwards. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bengtsson. Bengtsson blocks a body shot from Takano.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bengtsson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Takano trying to land knees to the body.
Takano's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Knees to the body from Takano.

Takano throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Bengtsson lands a shoulder strike. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Takano lands a nice uppercut. Takano lands with a short head shot on the inside. Bengtsson can't find room to land a body shot as Takano controls the action.

Takano pushes Bengtsson back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takano prevents a body shot from Bengtsson. Takano's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Takano feints and then cracks Bengtsson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Bengtsson down. Bengtsson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Takano. Takano obviously looking to wear him down.
Takano keeps the fight on the outside. We've been told by Takano's head coaches at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Takano lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bengtsson's sensitive parts. Bengtsson wants to clinch up but Takano keeps it at a distance. Bengtsson tries to clinch but Takano moves away and Takano counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bengtsson wants to clinch but Takano slips to the side and Takano counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Bengtsson looks to clinch letting Takano counter with a right hand. Bengtsson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Takano stalls. Takano blocks a body shot from Bengtsson. Takano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The fight stays on the outside here - Bengtsson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Takano lunges at Bengtsson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Bengtsson's hand.
That has opened up Eddy Bengtsson's cut even more. Takano circles away from the clinch attempt and Takano makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bengtsson really felt that one! Bengtsson wants to clinch up but Takano keeps it at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bengtsson moves in looking to clinch but Takano pushes him off. Takano lands a nice looking body shot.
Bengtsson tries to close the distance and clinch but Takano swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bengtsson rushes Takano and presses him up against the cage. Takano scores with a nice hook to the head. Bengtsson misses with a short punch on the inside. Bengtsson takes a knee to the side of the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Takano lands a shoulder strike. Takano landing knees to the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. A nice left hand lands by Takano.
Bengtsson is rocked! Takano throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Takano creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Bengtsson's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Bengtsson drops to his knees and Takano pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yoshi Takano! A victorious Yoshi Takano thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
