Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between EJ Tap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teppo Tuhoaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tap kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Pop Lock and Drop It. This should be fireworks!

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Teppo Tuhoaja! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tuhoaja ducks under a wild hook from Tap. Tuhoaja has a takedown stuffed. Good work by Tap as he checks the leg kick. No luck for Tuhoaja with that takedown attempt. Tap throws a jab but it's blocked by Tuhoaja. Tap lands a right hook to the body.
Tap fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Tap shoots in and bounces Tuhoaja off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Tap trying to control but Tuhoaja is working from the bottom. Tap is pushing down on Tuhoaja's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tuhoaja is fighting to maintain full guard but Tap has managed to sneak the leg through. Tuhoaja is looking to get to half guard. Tap with a couple of short strikes. Tuhoaja wants to hold on but Tap pushes him away. Tap has control of Tuhoaja's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tuhoaja regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tuhoaja makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tuhoaja. Tap won't allow Tuhoaja to sweep him here. Tap pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tuhoaja is keeping the position for now. Tuhoaja trying to keep a closed guard but Tap is proving a slippery customer.
Tuhoaja has his foot on Tap's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tap works his way back into a safe position though. Tap trying to control the position from guard on top but Tuhoaja is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tuhoaja looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tap wants to control from the top but Tuhoaja keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tap jabbing away but nothing is landing. Tap throws a body punch but Tuhoaja moves out of range. Tuhoaja will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tuhoaja scores with a hook. Tap takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Tap ducks under a wild hook from Tuhoaja. Tuhoaja stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like EJ Tap has been cut. Tap throws a big shot that misses. Nice takedown defense from Tuhoaja. No joy for Tap on that attempt. Tuhoaja walks into a stiff left hand from Tap. Tap with a nice cross. A bone on bone clash there as Tap blocks the leg kick.
Tap shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Tuhoaja as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for EJ Tap. That's going to take a lot out of him. A cross from Tap lands. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tap gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tap keeping moving, preventing Tuhoaja from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
EJ Tap dominated that round. The cut man is working on EJ Tap's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tuhoaja regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tuhoaja is looking for a sweep. Tap is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Tap thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tap tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tuhoaja knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tuhoaja works his way to full guard. Good work. Tuhoaja is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tap postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Tuhoaja looking for a sweep. Not yet Tuhoaja, not yet. Tap is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tuhoaja misses with a low kick. Tuhoaja misses with a wild body shot. Tap gets the takedown into side control. Tap working the ground and pound from side control. Tap thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

A much better position for Tuhoaja. Tap is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Tuhoaja is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Tuhoaja has escaped and now he's on top! Tuhoaja drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tuhoaja jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tuhoaja trying to move into half guard but instead Tap has managed to sweep! Tuhoaja has his foot on Tap's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tap tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Tuhoaja is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Tap sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Tuhoaja is trying to escape the mount.
