Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Loyd Valentine (ranked 24724 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davin Miguel (ranked 6132 p4p, 0 weight class). Davin Miguel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Loyd Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Davin Miguel! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miguel throws a right and a left that both miss. Valentine moves into the clinch successfully.
Miguel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Valentine has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Miguel uses from the top position. Valentine is controlling Miguel's posture. Valentine is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Miguel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Valentine pulls Miguel in to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miguel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Valentine trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valentine has a closed guard, preventing Miguel from standing up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Valentine wants to stand but Miguel is controlling the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Miguel darts in and clinches Valentine up against the cage. Miguel working hard to break the clinch. Valentine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Loyd Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valentine fails with a takedown attempt. Miguel scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valentine clinches up with Miguel and pushes him back against the cage. Valentine escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miguel stalks Valentine and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Valentine's face. Valentine staggers backwards, shaken. Valentine closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Valentine lands in his opponent's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Valentine landing some decent shots from guard. Valentine slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Valentine with a nice head shot there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Valentine with a flurry of punches that miss. Valentine is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Valentine sitting in guard, not really doing much. Valentine drops back looking for a leg! Miguel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miguel manages to kick Valentine off! Valentine jumps back into Miguel's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valentine stays in close to Miguel's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Loyd Valentine will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Miguel takes the fight into the clinch. Valentine stalls. Miguel is trying to break free. Valentine jumps guard.
Valentine is pulling down on Miguel's head. It's preventing any offense from Miguel, at least for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Valentine is on top in guard.
Valentine is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Valentine's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Valentine throws a big elbow that misses. Miguel working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Valentine. Miguel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Valentine is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miguel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Valentine working some strikes from top position. Miguel is looking to stand back up but Valentine counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Miguel. Valentine stalling. Miguel blocking the ground and pound attempt from Valentine. Valentine scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Valentine passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Miguel! Valentine working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Loyd Valentine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Valentine lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Miguel hang on? Miguel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valentine. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Valentine postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Miguel looks a forlorn figure.
Valentine has control of Miguel's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Miguel regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Valentine with good strikes from the mount here! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Loyd Valentine dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Valentine shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Miguel defends it nicely. Miguel stuffs the takedown. Miguel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Valentine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Valentine tries to land a front kick but Miguel steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Miguel defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Valentine. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Loyd Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Miguel!
Miguel feints a jab promting Valentine to slip. Miguel then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Valentine slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Valentine walks into a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Left hook, right uppercut from Miguel. Miguel rushes Valentine and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Valentine breaks from the clinch.
Davin Miguel seems to be getting the better of the standup. Miguel cracks Valentine with a good jab. A right-left combo lands from Miguel. Valentine feints and as Miguel raises his hands in defense, Valentine changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Valentine stands and throws Miguel's legs to the side, diving into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miguel takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Miguel is trying to escape the position but Valentine is controlling the position. Miguel defending against the ground and pound. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Valentine postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Valentine stands up. Miguel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Valentine fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miguel manages to avoid it. Miguel pushes Valentine up against the cage in a clinch. Valentine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Miguel can do to turn this around? Miguel wants to break free but Valentine has control.
