Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nino Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaun Hague! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hague swings for the body but Brown moves out of range.
Brown scoring well with a low kick there.
Brown scores with a kick to the midsection. Brown lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Brown chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Hague will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Brown throws a quick inside leg kick. A good leg kick by Brown. Brown looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Brown connects with an inside leg kick. Brown looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Brown throws a leg kick that is checked and Hague connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Nino Brown has been cut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Brown dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hague. That did some damage! Brown is looking to slow Hague down with leg kicks. Hague's coach down at Killer Instinct ☠ was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hague's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hague takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Brown tries to keep at a distance but Hague has taken the fight into the clinch. Hague scores with a nice hook to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brown is looking to break free of the clinch but Hague has double underhooks. Brown blocking some punches.
Brown wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Brown is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hague lands a left hand.
Hague keeps control of Brown as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Hague misses with some punches.
Brown breaks the clinch.
Hague misses with a wild body shot. Brown throws a leg kick but Hague moved away. Hague wants to counter with a clinch but Brown pushes him away. Hague's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Hague wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance. Shaun Hague is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hague keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hague connects with a good right hand that stumbles Brown. Brown circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Brown swats away the attempt to clinch by Hague. Hague tries to clinch but Brown is having none of it. Brown throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hague moves out of range of the leg kick from Brown. Hague lands with a nice body punch. Hague lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Brown buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hague connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. This has been an exciting period of action! A slow jab from Hague misses its intended target. Hague lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Brown at a distance.
Good work by Hague as he checks the leg kick. Brown throws a low kick, looking for Hague's leg but Hague calmly moves out of range. Shaun Hague seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brown misses with a low kick. Hague checks a leg kick. Hague checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Brown connects with an inside leg kick. Hague checks a low kick from Brown. Brown misses with a low kick.
Brown sets himself, and Hague steps forward looking for the clinch! Brown avoids it this time. Brown takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Hague jabbing away but nothing is landing. As Hague backs away, Brown returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Brown does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brown tried to score with a low kick but Hague checks it. Hague cracks Brown with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Brown lands a leg kick that knocks Hague off balance momentarily. Hague drops Brown with a big left hand! Brown is injured, injured bad! Hague jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
