Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Savage (ranked 6955 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Weberly (ranked 8028 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Savage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Justin Weberly! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Weberly misses with a head kick.
Savage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Weberly sprawls well. Weberly wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Savage gets slowly back to his feet. Savage moves into range and clinches up with Weberly. Savage is looking to break free of the clinch but Weberly has double underhooks. Savage on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Weberly tries to land knees in the clinch but Savage avoids the damage to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Savage breaks from the clinch.
Savage shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Weberly is trying to defend but Savage finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Weberly manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Savage keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Weberly is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weberly tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Savage avoids it. Weberly is looking to take this one to the mat. Weberly keeps control of Savage as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Weberly escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Savage gets tackled into the cage by Weberly. Weberly maintains the clinch. Weberly effectively controlling the action here. Savage is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Weberly pulls him back up using the underhooks. Savage has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Weberly uses from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Weberly in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Savage is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Weberly jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Savage walks away with a smile on his face. Weberly gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weberly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Savage avoids it really well and circles away. Billy Savage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Weberly. Savage scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Weberly tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Savage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Savage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Weberly tries to improve his position but Savage has taken his back! Savage has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Weberly tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Savage pushes Weberly away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
