Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soul Shadow (ranked 4314 p4p, 92 weight class) and Kyle Ryan (ranked 4573 p4p, 94 weight class). Soul Shadow has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Ryan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Shadow throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Shadow tries to close the distance and clinch but Ryan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ryan swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Ryan throws a head kick but Shadow moves out of range.
Ryan defending well as Shadow loads up on a big left hand.
Shadow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ryan throws out the jab.
Shadow just misses with a punch to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shadow stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ryan throws an overhand right that lands on Shadow's shoulder, as Shadow tries to avoid the shot.
Ryan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little feinted left hand from Shadow on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Ryan throws a leg kick
and Shadow makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Ryan throws a lazy uppercut
and Shadow counters with a left to the body.
Ryan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shadow looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ryan. Shadow does a little dance to reset his feet.
Shadow was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Shadow throws a jab but it's blocked by Ryan.
Ryan throws a looping overhand right but Shadow ducks down to avoid it.
Shadow lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Shadow ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ryan moves away.
Ryan with the counter takedown but Shadow avoids it easily.
Shadow swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ryan counters with a stiff right hand.

Ryan shoots in and gets a takedown into Shadow's guard.
Ryan is standing up over Shadow. Shadow looks to escape but Ryan dives into side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Shadow regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ryan's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Shadow moves into full guard.
Shadow looking to control.
Ryan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Shadow's guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Shadow manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Ryan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryan looking to control but Shadow is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Shadow prevents Ryan from taking his back.
Shadow tries to lock up and control but Ryan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ryan is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Shadow has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Shadow!

Ryan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shadow is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ryan!
Ryan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Shadow is looking to work his way around to Ryan's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Ryan is desperately trying to improve his position but Shadow has a good base and remains in mount.
Shadow can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ryan is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kyle Ryan will probably get the nod.
That's time! Shadow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Shadow takes the fight into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Shadow tries to throw a body punch but Ryan avoids it by throwing Shadow back against the cage.
Ryan tries a body shot but Shadow blocks it.
Ryan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shadow is defending well.
Ryan misses with a punch to the body.

Kyle Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shadow stuffs the takedown attempt from Ryan. Ryan gets slowly back to his feet.
Soul Shadow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kyle Ryan.
Shadow throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Shadow counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Ryan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It looked like Shadow was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ryan.
Shadow misses the shot to the body.
Ryan lands a head kick!

It looks like Soul Shadow has been cut.

Ryan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ryan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Shadow just misses with a punch to the body.

Shadow tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ryan was well out of range. Poor timing from Shadow.
Shadow displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ryan.
Shadow looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Shadow has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Shadow throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ryan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shadow.

Shadow looks to land a left hand but Ryan moved out of range nicely.
Ryan throws a big counter head kick but Shadow avoids it with no problem.

Shadow takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Ryan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Shadow's hands.

Ryan avoids the body shot from Shadow.
Shadow swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ryan.

Kyle Ryan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Shadow throws a punch but it's blocked by Ryan.
Nice body punch from Shadow - that landed with a thud.
Shadow lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Shadow is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ryan is defending well for now.

Shadow lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ryan backwards.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Soul Shadow showed his dominance in that final round.
