Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcel Trujillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Martinez ! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martinez tries for a takedown but Trujillo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A lazy body kick from Martinez and Trujillo counters with a shoot takedown. Martinez fights it but they end up in guard. Trujillo throwing strikes from guard but Martinez blocks nicely. Trujillo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Trujillo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Trujillo landing with the ground and pound. Trujillo is looking to work some ground and pound but Martinez has wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trujillo throwing strikes from guard but Martinez blocks nicely. Trujillo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trujillo throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Martinez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Martinez wants to sweep here but Trujillo controlling him for the moment. Martinez is still trying to improve position. Martinez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Martinez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Martinez wants to control but Trujillo passes easily into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martinez is trying to maintain the position but Trujillo is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Trujillo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Trujillo is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Trujillo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Martinez trying to control from the bottom.
Trujillo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Trujillo is working for a kimura but Martinez is defending it quite comfortably.
Trujillo prevents Martinez from standing back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Trujillo scores with a takedown into Martinez 's guard. Martinez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Trujillo manages to pass to side control. Martinez wants to get back to full guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martinez punching from the bottom.

Martinez misses with a takedown attempt - Trujillo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Trujillo shoots in and drives through. Martinez sprawls well. Jackson Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Trujillo blocks a head kick by Martinez .
Martinez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Trujillo as he avoids it easily. Martinez throws a sloppy head kick and Trujillo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Martinez won't be happy with that. Trujillo is trying to get an arm triangle but Martinez is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez can't do much from the bottom here. Trujillo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Martinez is trying to get back to his feet.

Wait, no, Martinez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Trujillo's guard! Nice work there by Martinez ! Martinez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Trujillo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Martinez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Trujillo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martinez 's guard.
Martinez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Trujillo uses it to pass to side control.
Trujillo has hold of Martinez 's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Martinez seems comfortable defending it but Trujillo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Martinez is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Martinez is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Trujillo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
