Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jozef Beast (ranked 3115 p4p, 346 weight class) and Aaron Smith (ranked 4581 p4p, 481 weight class). Smith has chosen Lonely Train by Black Stone Cherry as his entrance music. Jozef Beast has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jozef Beast! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Smith! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Beast has time to react. Smith misses with a looping left. Smith lands with a straight right. Beast didn't see that one coming. Aaron Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith connects with a nice looking jab.
Beast drops his hands momentarily and Smith takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Smith lands the left hand. Smith throws a poor cross that misses
and Beast counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Smith down! Beast is looking to finish but Smith is intelligently defending himself.
Smith is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beast trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beast passes into half guard. Beast is trying to control the action in half guard but Smith is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Smith told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Smith is looking for a sweep. Beast is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith gets full guard. Beast drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Beast jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are working up against the cage. Smith manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Beast tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage. Smith is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Nice elbow from Smith. Smith creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Smith comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Jozef Beast has been cut. Beast fails to pull guard.
Beast pulls Smith into guard.
Smith stands up and waves to Beast to follow him. Good shot there by Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith slips under a jab from Beast. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Beast lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Smith misses with a looping left. A combination from Smith does no damage. Beast takes one to the side of the head.
Smith cracks a nice hook into Beast's ribs. Smith throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Smith misses with a wild body shot. Beast throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith. Smith bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Beast's head backwards. Smith is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Beast had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Beast has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Beast there as he acknowledges the shot. The fighters circle momentarily. Smith darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Beast is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beast drops his hands momentarily. Smith doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Beast staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Beast doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aaron Smith! A relieved looking Aaron Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
