Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Makonouchi Ippo (ranked 1743 p4p, 162 weight class) and Blayze Sommer (ranked 3101 p4p, 296 weight class). Ippo comes to the cage accompanied by Zenbonzakura. Makonouchi Ippo has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makonouchi Ippo! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Blayze Sommer! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sommer clinches with his opponent.
A short right from Ippo on the inside. Sommer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Ippo tries to throw a body punch but Sommer avoids it by throwing Ippo back against the cage. Ippo misses with the head strike.
Ippo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sommer lands a right hand. Ippo blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Sommer tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sommer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Sommer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sommer lands a body shot in the clinch.
Ippo's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sommer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sommer lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ippo or not. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sommer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ippo backwards. A right hand to the body from Ippo.

That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Sommer fails to land. Sommer has a couple of punches blocked by Ippo.
Sommer is pressed up against the cage. Ippo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sommer down to the mat. Sommer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Sommer moves out of range of the body kick from Ippo.
Ippo works over Sommer's head and body with a nice combination. Sommer looks to land a left hand but Ippo moved out of range nicely. Ippo avoids the body shot from Sommer.
Sommer throws a body punch but Ippo moves out of range. Sommer lands a lovely overhand right. Sommer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ippo moves away. Sommer digs a good hook to Ippo's body.
Ippo cracks Sommer with a right hand to the side of the head. Sommer swings for the body but Ippo moves out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Ippo misses the target. Sommer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sommer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Sommer wants to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ippo dodges the punch combination from Sommer.
Ippo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sommer on the side of the head. Good standup being displayed there by Sommer as he connects with a hook. Sommer misses with a shot to the body and Ippo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Blayze Sommer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ippo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Sommer drops Ippo with a big left hand! Ippo is injured, injured bad! Sommer jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Blayze Sommer! Blayze Sommer is the new lightweight champion! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Blayze Sommer made sure he mentioned Fanatic Inc., along with how happy he was to win his fight.
