Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leifi Plomeros (ranked 866 p4p, 119 weight class) and Luther Jones (ranked 267 p4p, 41 weight class). Plomeros comes to the cage accompanied by Ievan Polkka. Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: One - Metallica. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leifi Plomeros!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luther Jones!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones closes the distance and pushes Plomeros back into the cage.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Plomeros smiles and moves away.
Plomeros misses with a straight right.
Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Plomeros, as that shot connected.
It looks like Luther Jones has been cut.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones wants to clinch but Plomeros slips to the side
and Plomeros counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jones rushes Plomeros and presses him up against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Plomeros.
Plomeros blocking some punches.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Plomeros.
Plomeros struggles to land a body shot inside as Jones controls his hands.
Jones lands a shot to the body.
Jones tries a body shot but Plomeros blocks it.
Plomeros lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Plomeros is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Plomeros down to the mat. Plomeros avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Plomeros. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Plomeros throws a big counter combination but Jones scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Leifi Plomeros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luther Jones.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A telegraphed right hand from Plomeros misses the target.
Plomeros's corner calls for a 1-2. Plomeros obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Plomeros misses with the combination.
Jones slips a jab and a cross from Plomeros.
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Jones drives through with a takedown into Plomeros's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Plomeros looking for a sweep. Not yet Plomeros, not yet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Plomeros is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Plomeros's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Plomeros has a hand on Jones's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Jones takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Plomeros knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.
BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jones raining down shots from the mount!
Plomeros takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Plomeros tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control.
Plomeros is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jones scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Plomeros tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away.
Plomeros is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.
Jones landing strikes, looking to finish!
Plomeros is rocked!
Plomeros keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Oh Plomeros is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Plomeros seems to have got his legs back now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A big strike lands for Jones! That's really hurt Plomeros and he's turned his back - Jones keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Jones jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luther Jones! Luther Jones retains his middleweight title!
