Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kim Rhee Daebyeol (ranked 5364 p4p, 465 weight class) and Cain Alvarado (ranked 7542 p4p, 547 weight class). Kim Rhee Daebyeol has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cain Alvarado! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarado does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Daebyeol fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alvarado to the ground. Daebyeol is now in Alvarado's guard. Daebyeol looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Daebyeol's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Daebyeol postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daebyeol slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Daebyeol content to stall in guard here. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Daebyeol missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Daebyeol stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Alvarado swivels though and keeps the full guard. Daebyeol is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Daebyeol has been working on his boxing with his coaches at All Star Performance Institute in the buildup to the fight. Kim Rhee Daebyeol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alvarado. Daebyeol shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alvarado napping and manages to drive through into side control! Alvarado takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Daebyeol content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Alvarado is trying to control Daebyeol's posture but Daebyeol avoids it. Daebyeol creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Alvarado sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Daebyeol is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarado takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Daebyeol in side control, just content to control the action for now. Daebyeol seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alvarado for as long as he can get away with. Daebyeol landing a few strikes. Alvarado is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee asks Daebyeol politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Daebyeol prefers to stall for the moment though. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Alvarado taking a bit of punishment here - Daebyeol scoring with strikes. Alvarado can't do much from the bottom here. Alvarado is looking for a sweep. Daebyeol controlling the position from side mount. Alvarado is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Cain Alvarado has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
