The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doakes blocks a head kick by Ruane.

Doakes rushes Ruane and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Doakes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Doakes forces Ruane back against the cage and clinches.
Doakes pushes Ruane back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Doakes tries to work over Ruane's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Doakes lands an uppercut.
Doakes scores with a shot to the side of Ruane's head.
Ruane effectively controlling the action here.

Ruane trying to control the position but instead, Doakes has worked for underhooks and has pushed Ruane into the cage.
Doakes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Doakes lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Doakes lands a hook that snaps the head of Ruane backwards.
Doakes lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ruane or not.
Ruane takes a shot to the head.

Doakes lands a left hand.

Ruane is rocked!
Ruane is breathing heavily.
Doakes creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Ruane's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Ruane drops to his knees and Doakes pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
