Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garland Hogan (ranked 5735 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manolito Punyos (ranked 4630 p4p, 0 weight class). Manolito Punyos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Garland Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Manolito Punyos!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punyos lands a nice hook to Hogan's body. Hogan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hogan really is a fat lump.

Hogan clinches with his opponent.

Punyos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hogan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Punyos tries to avoid it but Hogan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Punyos to the ground. Punyos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hogan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Punyos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Hogan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Punyos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Hogan swings around for an armbar but Punyos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hogan's guard.
Punyos looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Punyos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hogan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Punyos's guard.

Punyos tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Punyos looks winded!
Hogan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hogan stands and steps away. Punyos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Hogan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Punyos feints the counter takedown.
Hogan tries to clinch but Punyos is having none of it.
Punyos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Punyos shoots in looking for a takedown. Hogan tries to sprawl out of it but Punyos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hogan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hogan instigates a clinch.
Punyos manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Hogan breaks from the clinch.

Punyos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hogan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hogan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hogan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Punyos tries to improve position but can't.

Hogan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Punyos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hogan as he avoids it easily.
Garland Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manolito Punyos.
Hogan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hogan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Punyos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hogan's waist but Hogan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Punyos off to one side.

Punyos is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hogan breaks the clinch.
Punyos shoots in looking for a takedown but Hogan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Punyos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hogan seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Punyos throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Hogan clinches with his opponent.
Punyos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hogan walks away with a smile on his face. Punyos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Punyos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Garland Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manolito Punyos.

Hogan manages to break the clinch.
Punyos is breathing heavily.
Hogan throws a right hand that Punyos ducks under and follows up with a left that Punyos also avoids with ease.

Hogan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Punyos.

Hogan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Punyos to the ground. Hogan is now in Punyos's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hogan darts in and clinches Punyos up against the cage.

Hogan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Punyos.
Hogan dodges the punch combination from Punyos.

Hogan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hogan decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Hogan moves into the clinch.
Hogan slowing the pace effectively.

Hogan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Punyos throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Punyos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hogan swivels and escapes.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hogan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hogan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Punyos looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hogan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hogan stands up and we're back to a striking position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Punyos lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hogan is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hogan tries to clinch but Punyos moves out of range.
Punyos is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Punyos shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hogan appears to be looking for a big counter.
Manolito Punyos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hogan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hogan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Punyos can do to turn this around?

Hogan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Punyos is just riding it out for now. Hogan eventually gives up the hold.
Punyos takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Hogan is taking a breather. Punyos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hogan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Punyos.

Hogan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Punyos, pushing him back against the cage.

Hogan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Punyos tries to break the clinch but Hogan is controlling the position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Punyos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hogan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Punyos quickly recovers to half guard.

Hogan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hogan wants to stand up but Punyos is controlling the position.

Garland Hogan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
