Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Kortez (ranked 23968 p4p, 608 weight class) and Kenshi Suri (ranked 4118 p4p, 354 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kortez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thunderstruck. Kenshi Suri told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Josh West, Roger Salmon and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kortez tries to clinch up but Suri circles away and keeps his distance.
Kortez moves into the clinch.
Kortez tries for a takedown but Suri manages to get underhooks.
Suri lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Suri tries to break the clinch but Kortez is controlling the position.
Kortez gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Suri is looking for a sweep. Kortez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kortez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Suri is just riding it out for now. Kortez eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kortez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kortez is keen to just control but Suri is a slippery customer.
Kortez passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kortez has hold of Suri's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Suri manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Suri is in all sorts of trouble here.
