Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Len Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Assad Abdullah!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Abdullah as Walsh shoots in.
Despite the aggression on Abdullah's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Abdullah gets tackled into the cage by Walsh. Walsh maintains the clinch.
Walsh dodges an elbow strike from Abdullah.
Abdullah throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Abdullah misses with the head strike.
Abdullah misses with a knee strike.
Abdullah fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Abdullah misses with a punch on the inside.

Walsh pulls Abdullah into guard.

Walsh is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Walsh looking for a sweep. Not yet Walsh, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abdullah trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Abdullah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walsh keeping moving, preventing Abdullah from controlling successfully.
Abdullah slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Abdullah is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Walsh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Abdullah forces his way into half guard.
Walsh is staying active underneath Abdullah, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Walsh gets full guard.
Walsh keeping moving, preventing Abdullah from controlling successfully.
Abdullah trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Walsh wants to sweep here but Abdullah controlling him for the moment.

Abdullah drops back looking for a leg! Walsh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walsh manages to kick Abdullah off! Abdullah jumps back into Walsh's guard.

Walsh is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Abdullah is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Walsh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Abdullah thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Abdullah is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Abdullah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Walsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Abdullah's guard.


Abdullah has his foot on Walsh's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walsh works his way back into a safe position though.

Walsh stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Abdullah throws up his legs and catches Walsh in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Walsh tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Abdullah! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Assad Abdullah!
