Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Stevenson (ranked 23953 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Carvalho (ranked 6167 p4p, 0 weight class). Carvalho is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Wrecked-by PARKWAY DRIVE. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Drew Carvalho was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho throws a body shot but no joy.
Stevenson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Stevenson is looking to clinch but Carvalho is avoiding it.
Carvalho will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Carvalho dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Stevenson. That did some damage!
Stevenson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carvalho fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stevenson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Carvalho throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Carvalho turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Carvalho moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Carvalho fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevenson, pushing him back against the cage.

Stevenson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drew Carvalho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevenson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Carvalho. That one must have hurt.
No joy there for Carvalho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stevenson is looking to counter the offense by Carvalho and move into the clinch.

Carvalho moves into range and clinches up with Stevenson.
Stevenson wants to stall.
Carvalho digs a right hand underneath Stevenson's ribcage. Stevenson let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Carvalho tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Stevenson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stevenson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carvalho swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Stevenson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carvalho.
Stevenson is looking to counter the offense by Carvalho and move into the clinch.

Carvalho moves into the clinch successfully.
Carvalho misses with a short punch on the inside.
Carvalho lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
A head punch on the inside from Carvalho fails to land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Stevenson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Good leg kick by Carvalho there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The fighters circling - Stevenson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Carvalho connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stevenson. Stevenson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Carvalho has Stevenson up against the cage in a clinch.
Carvalho tries to throw a body punch but Stevenson avoids it by throwing Carvalho back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Carvalho fails to land.
Carvalho tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
A body shot lands from Carvalho.
Stevenson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Carvalho is defending well.
Carvalho lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Carvalho lands on the inside with an uppercut.
The referee is keeping an eye on Carvalho - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Stevenson throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Stevenson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carvalho controls the pace.

Stevenson looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Carvalho is defending well. Stevenson quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Carvalho has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Stevenson celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
