PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Dangerfield (ranked 41 p4p, 4 weight class) and John Battock (ranked 73 p4p, 11 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dangerfield might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Immortal - All Shall Fall. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rocco Dangerfield!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Battock!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battock works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dangerfield looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Battock keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dangerfield throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Battock was covering up waiting for the punch and Dangerfield finishes the takedown easily into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Battock can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Dangerfield drives through with a takedown into Battock's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Dangerfield on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Battock thuds a left hand into Dangerfield's body.
Dangerfield closes this distance looking for a takedown but Battock circles away.
Dangerfield shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Battock as he jumps to the side.
Battock throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Battock - that will leave a mark!
Battock lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Battock thuds his shin into the meat of Dangerfield's side.
Dangerfield takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dangerfield on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Battock lands a big head kick that sends Dangerfield tumbling to the mat! Battock takes a step backwards and waves Dangerfield back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Rocco Dangerfield has been cut.
John Battock seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Battock dips to his left and cracks Dangerfield with an uppercut!
Dangerfield is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Battock throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Battock lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Dangerfield takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dangerfield shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dangerfield sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Battock lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Battock rushes Dangerfield and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Dangerfield is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Battock piles on the pressure and Dangerfield crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

During a confident post fight interview, John Battock thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Rocco Dangerfield stepped up to the mic, saying 'Rematch in the car park!'.
