6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ruben Aguirre! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swayne dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Swayne moves out of range of the strikes. It looked like Swayne was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. A jab from Aguirre misses. Aguirre connects with the punch. Aguirre missing with a left hand there. Swayne was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Swayne keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Swayne misses the target. Aguirre defending well as Swayne loads up on a big left hand. Aguirre scores with a jab to the jaw. Aguirre rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Swayne counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Aguirre throws a big shot that misses. It looked like Swayne was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Aguirre. Aguirre looks to land a right hand but Swayne moved out of range. Swayne lands a jab. Swayne thuds his right hand into Aguirre's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Swayne definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Aguirre might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Aguirre cracks a nice hook into Swayne's ribs. Ruben Aguirre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aguirre lands a lovely overhand right. Swayne obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. It seemed like Aguirre was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Aguirre is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Swayne had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Nice defenses there by Aguirre. Aguirre scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Aguirre takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Swayne uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Aguirre. Swayne uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aguirre. An attempted straight right counter from Swayne misses the target. A slow jab from Swayne misses its intended target. Aguirre avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Swayne misses with a wild combination.

Swayne changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Nice shot by Aguirre. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Swayne walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Aguirre swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aguirre works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Aguirre's coach down at Ferocious Beast was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Aguirre's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Swayne takes one to the side of the head.
Aguirre lands with a nice body punch. Swayne fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Swayne swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Swayne counters with a nice body shot. Good shot there by Aguirre. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Swayne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aguirre.
Swayne throws out a powerful jab. A punch lands to the side of Swayne 's head but he takes it in his stride. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Swayne throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Aguirre on the side of the head. Swayne throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Aguirre misses the shot to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Swayne tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Aguirre was well out of range. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Swayne might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
