Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akao Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Roberts might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Aint no sunshine By DMX. Akao Machida has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tyler Roberts's chin.

Machida drives through with a takedown into guard.
Roberts looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Machida passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Machida wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Roberts, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Machida is persistently looking for the submission but Roberts is defending it well.

Machida is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Roberts defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Machida lands a shot to the head.
Machida is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Machida gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Machida gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Machida apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Roberts shoots for a double leg takedown but Machida sprawls well. He's pushed Roberts's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Machida is on top in guard.
Roberts has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Roberts looks to land a combination but Machida avoids it well.

Machida changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roberts looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Machida has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Roberts is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Machida yanks on the arm and Roberts is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Machida.
