Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lakoj Dresden (ranked 2043 p4p, 271 weight class) and Henri Hagert (ranked 2235 p4p, 296 weight class). Lakoj Dresden has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Lakoj Dresden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henri Hagert! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dresden takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Donk. Dresden catches Hagert right on the button with a cross. Dresden moves out of range of the body kick from Hagert.
Hagert misses with a hook
and Dresden counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Hagert throws a leg kick and Dresden counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dresden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Dresden is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dresden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hagert swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dresden trying to control but Hagert is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dresden trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dresden working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Dresden looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dresden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dresden lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dresden is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dresden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hagert controlling Dresden's posture. Dresden postures up in Hagert's guard and throws a big left but Hagert blocks it. Dresden wants to control from the top but Hagert keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hagert displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dresden throws out the jab. Hagert tries a quick counter leg kick but Dresden is wise to it. Dresden misses with a wild body shot. Hagert throws a hook but Dresden avoids it easily. Dresden gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A quick uppercut on the inside from Hagert. Dresden lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hagert breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hagert misses with a straight left. Dresden wants to clinch up but Hagert keeps it at a distance. Hagert scores with a hook to the body. Dresden takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Hagert misses with an uppercut. Dresden saw that one coming. Hagert thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Dresden if he has to take too many more of those.
Hagert fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dresden. Dresden throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hagert. Hagert's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dresden connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hagert scrambles back to his feet. Hagert throws a leg kick but Dresden sees it coming and checks it nicely. Dresden was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Dresden with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hagert to score with a decent uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hagert waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Dresden. Dresden jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hagert throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hagert lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hagert takes one to the side of the head.
Dresden fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dresden takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hagert scores with a jab to the head.
Dresden has closed the distance and engaged Hagert in a clinch.
Hagert can't find room to land a body shot as Dresden controls the action.
Hagert scores with an uppercut up the middle. Hagert wants to break the clinch but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lakoj Dresden will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hagert takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Dresden scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dresden prevents Hagert from improving his position. Dresden performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Hagert is doing well to control the position and prevent Dresden from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dresden wants to take a breather but Hagert is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dresden is stalling here. Hagert is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dresden seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hagert has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Hagert wants to stand but Dresden has his arm trapped. Dresden is not content to let Hagert control the position. Hagert tries to stand but Dresden is controlling his head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dresden has one of Hagert's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Hagert tries to stand but Dresden is controlling his head. Dresden wants to control but Hagert postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Dresden moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Hagert misses. Dresden misses with a wild body shot. Hagert misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dresden.
Hagert connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Dresden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hagert is not content to let Dresden control the position. You can see the frustration on Hagert's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. That's four minutes gone in the round. Dresden is looking to take a break and control but Hagert is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dresden cracks Hagert with a big elbow. Dresden throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The ground and pound from Dresden seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dresden creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hagert sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dresden is looking to take a break and control but Hagert is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hagert is trying to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Lakoj Dresden will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Hagert pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Henri Hagert seems to be getting the better of the standup. Hagert pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Hagert scores with a jab to the body. Hagert connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hagert tries to land a leg kick but Dresden saw it coming and moves away.

and Dresden counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Dresden is taking a breather. Hagert says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Dresden looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hagert with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dresden wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hagert keeps working. Dresden throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dresden throws a strike but Hagert avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Dresden engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Dresden trying to control the position from guard on top but Hagert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hagert working a defensive guard here.
Dresden lands a couple of decent looking shots. Dresden controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Henri Hagert has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hagert is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dresden working some strikes from top position. Dresden looking to pass the guard. Hagert has momentary wrist control but Dresden slips an elbow through the middle. Hagert preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dresden with a flurry of punches that miss.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dresden is looking to clinch. Dresden slips under a jab from Hagert. Dresden checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Dresden walks into a jab. Hagert lands with a thumping leg kick.
Hagert misses with an uppercut
and Dresden decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hagert's guard. Dresden lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dresden's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hagert can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dresden controls the pace. Dresden throws a big elbow that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hagert working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dresden. Dresden seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dresden with a flurry of punches that miss. Dresden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hagert not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hagert working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dresden has passed into half guard!
Hagert throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Lakoj Dresden showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dresden, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
