Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Fort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fort comes into the arena with Pitbull - I know you want Me blaring out of the sound system. Ricardo Fort is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Thomas! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas is looking to clinch. Fort closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fort wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thomas, who protects the arm well. Fort is working Thomas over with some ground and pound from side control. Check out the look on Fort's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Fort drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fort jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Thomas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fort closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fort lands in his opponent's guard. Fort landing some decent shots from guard.

Fort scoring with punches to the head and body. Fort not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Fort thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Fort is looking to work some ground and pound but Thomas has wrist control. Ricardo Fort overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thomas wants to sweep but no luck. Fort trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Fort stands up and waves to Thomas to follow him. The fight stays on the outside here - Thomas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Thomas is working to avoid the ground and pound but Fort connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas tries to bench press Fort off him but Fort keeps the position. Fort decides to stand back up. Fort changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to avoid it but Fort manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Thomas to the ground. Thomas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Fort. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Fort with that takedown attempt. Fort gets a clinch. Thomas trying to land knees to the body.
Fort gets a trip takedown into half guard. Thomas on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Fort prevents Thomas from improving his position. Fort working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Thomas kicks off Fort and gets to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fort kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nice strikes from Fort there. Fort is looking for a kimura here.

Fort frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Thomas regains half guard. Fort trying to control the action but Thomas is working from the bottom.
