Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Ando (ranked 8186 p4p, 538 weight class) and Dave Thompson (ranked 7221 p4p, 499 weight class). Thompson has chosen Wonderboy by Tenacious D as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Ando! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Thompson! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson with a hook. Ando walks into a left hand. Thompson thows a leg kick but Ando checks it and Ando counters with a takedown into side control. Thompson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ando connects with a decent elbow. Ando grinds an elbow into Thompson's temple. Ando tries to score with some ground and pound. Thompson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Thompson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ando asserts his dominance and retains side control. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Thompson is not in a great position here, taking some shots. This has been an exciting period of action! Ando sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Thompson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Ando with the ground and pound but Thompson regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Thompson is looking to escape. Thompson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ando.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ando is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Thompson is just riding it out for now. Ando eventually gives up the hold. Thompson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ando. Thompson has hold of Ando's hands but Ando slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ando has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Ando not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ando throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Thompson to regain full guard. Thompson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Thompson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Ando missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ando throws a big elbow that misses. Ando trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ando postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Thompson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ando works over Thompson with some ground and pound from guard. Ando throws an elbow that misses. Thompson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ando's guard. Nice move by Thompson! Ando looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thompson is one step ahead there. Ando will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ando is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thompson defends well. Thompson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ando on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ando tries to get out of the position. Ando throws a couple of heel strikes.
Thompson wanted to stand there but Ando had control of the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ando is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ando throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Thompson to regain full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ando is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Ando has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Thompson is looking to stand up but Ando isn't so interested in that idea. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ando accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ando stops Thompson from standing up. Ando throws an elbow that misses. Thompson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ando's guard. Nice move by Thompson!
Ando looking for subs off his back but Thompson has passed one foot through into half guard.
Ando tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Ando will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters circle momentarily. Thompson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Ando walks into a stiff left hand from Thompson. Stephen Ando is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. and Thompson counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Ando! He's just covering up as Thompson starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Thompson!
