Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Hansen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Rolen! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hansen connects with a nice looking jab.
Nice takedown defense from Hansen. No joy for Rolen on that attempt. Hansen just misses with a punch to the body.
Hansen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hansen tries for a takedown but Rolen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hansen sets himself, and Rolen steps forward looking for the clinch! Hansen avoids it this time. Hansen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hansen misses the shot to the body. Hansen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Nice takedown defense from Hansen. No joy for Rolen on that attempt. Rolen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hansen moves into the clinch. Hansen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Rolen wants a takedown.
Alan Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Rolen. Rolen is trying to pull guard but Hansen has him pressed against the ropes. Hansen lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rolen backwards. Hansen slowing the pace effectively. Rolen tries to score a body lock takedown but Hansen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hansen gets through Rolen's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Hansen lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen is leaning against Rolen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Rolen looks winded! Hansen cracks Rolen with a nice body shot. Hansen lands a hook that snaps the head of Rolen backwards. Hansen lands a nice shot to the body. Hansen makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Hansen unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Rolen! He's leaning against the ropes trying to keep his feet but Hansen is unloading with more strikes now! Rolen drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alan Hansen! Alan Hansen decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
