Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rydell (ranked 1403 p4p, 68 weight class) and Fentz Straterloo (ranked 2386 p4p, 116 weight class). Roger Rydell could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Fentz Straterloo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Rydell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Fentz Straterloo! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rydell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rydell throws a head kick but Straterloo moves out of range.
Rydell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rydell throws a big shot that misses. Rydell gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Straterloo to counter with a crisp jab. Rydell takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rydell has his takedown stuffed and Straterloo counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Rydell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice uppercut lands for Straterloo. That snapped Rydell's head back.
Straterloo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rydell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Straterloo was well out of range. Poor timing from Rydell. Straterloo lunges at Rydell with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rydell's hand. Straterloo is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rydell just misses with a punch to the body.

and Straterloo counters with a lovely straight right hand! Straterloo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Rydell with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Straterloo to score with a decent uppercut. Rydell takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rydell is rocked! Rydell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Straterloo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Oh Rydell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Rydell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Straterloo keeps working. Rydell lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Straterloo down.
Rydell seems to have got his legs back now. This has been an exciting period of action! Rydell wants to control but Straterloo is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Straterloo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Straterloo is trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rydell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Straterloo has escaped the position, nice work there. Rydell working away. Straterloo seems a little lost for a moment, as Rydell dominates the positioning.

Rydell working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Straterloo being controlled for a moment. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Rydell looks up at the clock and then as Straterloo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rydell smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rydell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Straterloo keeps working. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Straterloo can do anything to dispel that myth. We've been hearing that Rydell has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Rydell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Rydell controls the position from side control. Rydell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Straterloo has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roger Rydell will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Straterloo has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Rydell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Straterloo defends well and Rydell ends up having to push Straterloo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Rydell shoots in for a double leg but Straterloo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Rydell throws an off balance right hand
and Straterloo counters with a stiff right hand. Rydell swings widly with a right hand
and Straterloo counters with a left to the body. Straterloo avoids the body shot from Rydell.

and Straterloo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Straterloo blocks a jab. A combination from Rydell does no damage. Rydell misses with an uppercut
and Straterloo counters with a nice body kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Rydell moves into range and connects with a jab. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rydell misses the shot to the body. And Straterloo responds with a good body kick, but Rydell manages to step out the way in time. Rydell looks to land a right hand but Straterloo moved out of range.

Straterloo thinks about the counter body kick. Rydell throws out a loose jab but Straterloo uses good head movement to avoid it. Straterloo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Rydell misses with a right hand and Straterloo counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Straterloo lands an overhand right. A combination from Rydell does no damage. The fighters circling - Rydell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Straterloo is trying to counter with his kicks. and Straterloo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Rydell throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Straterloo counters with a crisp one two that drops Rydell! Straterloo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Rydell to his feet! Rydell is in big trouble! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rydell looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Rydell throwing strikes but missing. Straterloo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Rydell throws a strike but Straterloo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Straterloo sitting in guard here, content to control. Straterloo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rydell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rydell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Straterloo's guard. Straterloo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Straterloo keeping moving, preventing Rydell from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rydell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rydell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rydell trying to control but Straterloo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Straterloo wants to sweep here but Rydell controlling him for the moment. Straterloo being controlled here, momentarily. Roger Rydell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Straterloo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Straterloo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rydell content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rydell trying to control the position from guard on top but Straterloo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Straterloo scores with a jab. Rydell acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rydell misses with a lunging right hand

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rydell throws a sloppy head kick and Straterloo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Straterloo lands with a cross. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rydell swings away with a body shot that misses
and Straterloo counters by moving into the clinch. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Straterloo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rydell with a lazy takedown attempt and Rydell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rydell misses with a left hand and Straterloo counters with a thumping low kick. Rydell throws a body punch but Straterloo moves out of range. Nice defenses there by Straterloo. Rydell sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Fentz Straterloo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rydell with a poor takedown and Straterloo counters with a slapping leg kick. Rydell with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Straterloo to score with a decent uppercut. Straterloo has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rydell takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rydell throws a body shot but no joy. As Rydell backs off Straterloo throws a huge counter combo but Rydell manages to avoid it all. Rydell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Straterloo.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Straterloo walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Rydell drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Straterloo swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Rydell's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fentz Straterloo! Fentz Straterloo decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
