Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Zackary Schneider (ranked 7451 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody Janna (ranked 6230 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janna throws a lazy head kick
and Schneider counters with a nice low kick that buckles Janna's knee momentarily.
Janna fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Janna just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromSchneider.
Janna shoots in for a double leg but Schneider sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Janna shoots in for a takedown but Schneider shows good takedown defense.
Zackary Schneider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cody Janna.
Janna dives in and grabs Schneider's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schneider pushes down on Janna's head and hops out.
Janna tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Schneider defends well and Janna ends up having to push Schneider into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Schneider ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schneider no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Janna shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Schneider defends it nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schneider jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Janna walks away with a smile on his face. Schneider gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Janna dives in for a single leg takedown but Schneider sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Schneider lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Schneider bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Cody Janna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A little feinted left hand from Schneider on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Schneider is pressed up against the cage. Janna has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schneider down to the mat. Schneider avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A solid leg kick lands there for Janna.
Janna throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Schneider tries to pull guard but Janna holds him up against the cage and eventually Schneider drops back down to his feet.

Janna blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Schneider jumps into guard, dragging Janna to the mat.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Schneider holds on and takes a little breather.

That was a close second round but I would say that Zackary Schneider will probably get the nod.

Janna on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
