Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Walter (ranked 6210 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Rennick (ranked 6033 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pablo Walter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Rennick! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Rennick throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Rennick takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Walter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Walter misses with a head kick.
Walter fails to land the takedown. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rennick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Walter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Walter seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Walter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Walter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rennick wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rennick wants to control but Walter is keeping busy.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rennick is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Walter is staying active. Rennick wants to get back to full guard. Rennick is trying to stand back up but Walter is controlling him
Rennick manages to escape and get back to his feet! Rennick has managed to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Walter jumps into guard, dragging Rennick to the mat.
Walter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rennick throws a big right hand that misses. Walter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rennick is one step ahead there. Walter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Rennick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Rennick working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rennick passes Walter's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rennick stops Walter from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter is breathing heavily. Rennick is nestled in close to Walter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Walter wants to improve his position but Rennick is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rennick is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rennick looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Rennick prevents Walter from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Walter is trying to stand back up but Rennick is controlling him
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Rennick is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walter sees it coming and defends easily. Rennick trying to mount his opponent but Walter defends it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A momentary lapse in concentration from Walter enables Rennick to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walter manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Walter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Walter tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Rennick dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rennick looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Walter! Rennick has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Walter is not content to let Rennick control the position. Rennick swings around for an armbar but Walter sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rennick's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walter stands up from Rennick's guard - Walter perhaps looking for a knockout. Walter looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rennick has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Walter is working away from the top position though. Rennick tries to get to full guard but Walter has control of the leg. Walter lands with a punch from half guard. Walter tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rennick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Walter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Walter throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rennick has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Walter is on him like a limpet, forcing Rennick back against the cage. Walter connects with a nasty looking knee right to Rennick's face.
Rennick stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Rennick throws a big elbow that misses. Rennick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Jim Rennick has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter wants to stand up but Rennick is controlling him. Rennick is pushing down on Walter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walter is fighting to maintain full guard but Rennick has managed to sneak the leg through. Walter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rennick is breathing heavily. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rennick connects with a nice short shot to Walter's temple. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rennick in particular looking to stall. Walter looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Walter pushes Rennick off looking to stand but Rennick dives back in and keeps control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rennick fails in his attempt to clinch. Rennick paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Rennick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walter swats him away and circles back towards the center. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rennick tries to clinch but Walter moves out of range. Rennick instigates a clinch. Walter wants to break free but Rennick has control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Walter swats away the attempt to clinch by Rennick. Rennick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walter swats him away and circles back towards the center. Walter lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Rennick tries to clinch up. Rennick shoots in and gets a takedown into Walter's guard. Rennick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Walter pushes Rennick off and scrambles back to his feet.
Rennick gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Walter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walter is trying to buck Rennick off. Rennick goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Walter rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rennick's guard! Nice work there by Walter! Walter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Walter scoring with punches to the head and body. Walter is looking to work some ground and pound but Rennick has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rennick pulls Walter in close to prevent any damage. Walter postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Walter throws a strike but Rennick rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Rennick stands and throws Walter's legs to the side, diving into side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Walter is looking for a sweep. Rennick working away.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pablo Walter. I think Walter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
