Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyreke Mechanic (ranked 3567 p4p, 426 weight class) and Pete Wheeler (ranked 5158 p4p, 553 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Pete Wheeler was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyreke Mechanic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pete Wheeler!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot by Wheeler.
Mechanic moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mechanic throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wheeler.
Wheeler jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pete Wheeler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mechanic throws a poor cross that misses
and Wheeler counters with a nice body shot.
Wheeler is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mechanic.

enabling Mechanic to counter with a crisp jab.
Mechanic swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wheeler misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mechanic.
Wheeler throws a hook but Mechanic blocks it.

Mechanic moves out of range of the strikes.
Mechanic lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wheeler takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mechanic throws a shot from downtown. Wheeler moves away and avoids it.
Mechanic swats away the attempt to clinch by Wheeler.

Mechanic scores with a hook to the body. Wheeler takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wheeler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mechanic manages to avoid it.
Wheeler lands with a nice combination. Mechanic backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Tyreke Mechanic has been cut.
Mechanic connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Wheeler momentarily.
Wheeler thuds a left hand into Mechanic's body.
Wheeler wants to clinch but Mechanic slips to the side
and Mechanic counters with a nice body shot.

Wheeler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mechanic moves away.
Mechanic throws a hook but Wheeler avoids it easily.
Wheeler lands with an uppercut that bounces Mechanic off the cage and back into range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wheeler gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Mechanic cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mechanic wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

and Mechanic counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wheeler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mechanic connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wheeler scrambles back to his feet.
Wheeler is rocked!
Mechanic punishes Wheeler's body with a nice straight punch.
Wheeler lunges at Mechanic with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mechanic's hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mechanic lands with a good body shot.
Mechanic on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Mechanic scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wheeler doesn't seem bothered though.
Mechanic is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Mechanic works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wheeler throws a series of strikes that have Mechanic backpedaling.
Mechanic fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wheeler on the side of the head.
Wheeler is still on wobbly legs! Can Mechanic finish him?

Wheeler seems to have recovered his senses.
Wheeler swings for the body but Mechanic moves out of range.
Mechanic lands with a right hand.
Wheeler misses with a straight right.
A big right from Wheeler misses.
Wheeler doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Wheeler looks winded!

Mechanic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wheeler. Wheeler circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

and Mechanic makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mechanic connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wheeler's hands.
Mechanic lands with a big left! Wheeler is wobbled badly! Mechanic comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Wheeler to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Tyreke Mechanic!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Tyreke Mechanic waved his t-shirt featuring Free Bands inc.'s logo in front of the cameras.
