The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Some wild striking there from Franco.
Franco fails to land with a series of punches.
Dunlap ducks right into an uppercut from Franco.
Franco misses with a two punch combination.
A left lands for Franco.
Franco throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dunlap.
Franco throws a right and a left that both miss.
Franco misses with a straight left.

Dunlap instigates a clinch.
Franco wants to get back to striking at distance but Dunlap won't allow it.

Dunlap manages to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dunlap is working an open guard so Franco takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Franco throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dunlap counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Franco misses with a left hand
and Dunlap counters with a series of strikes. Franco will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dunlap shoots in for a takedown but Franco shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dunlap moves into the clinch.
Franco wants to break free but Dunlap has control.
Dunlap has Franco pressed against the cage, preventing Franco from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Franco wants to break free but Dunlap has control.
Franco wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dunlap takes a shot to the head.
Dunlap really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dunlap misses with the head strike.
Dunlap tries to stall but Franco uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Dunlap breaks from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Franco swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Dunlap counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dunlap misses with some punches.

Dunlap escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Franco misses with an uppercut
enabling Dunlap to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Franco fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Franco lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Dunlap goes down and covers up as Franco starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xavier Franco!
Xavier Franco was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
