The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munster has Martinez up against the cage in a clinch.
Martinez can't find room to land a body shot as Munster controls the action.
Munster has Martinez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Martinez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Martinez on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Martinez pushes Munster back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martinez is looking to control Munster's arms but Munster gets an underhook and turns him. Now Martinez has his back to the cage.
Munster tries to pull guard but Martinez holds him up against the cage and eventually Munster drops back down to his feet.
Munster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Munster feints and as Martinez raises his hands in defense, Munster changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Martinez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Martinez presses Munster against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Martinez throws a head punch that misses.
Munster breaks the clinch.
Munster shoots for a double leg takedown but Martinez sprawls well. He's pushed Munster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Barry Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Franklin Munster.
Munster clinches up against the cage.
Martinez swings wildly with an uppercut but Munster uses good head movement to avoid it.
Munster tries to pull guard but Martinez won't allow it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A head kick by Martinez misses
and Munster counters with a nice low kick that buckles Martinez's knee momentarily.
Martinez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Munster forces Martinez back against the cage and clinches.
Munster breaks from the clinch.
Munster clinches with his opponent.

Munster is trying to drag Martinez to the mat but Martinez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

It looks like Barry Martinez has been cut.
Come on Martinez - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Munster breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Martinez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Munster throws Martinez to one side and escapes!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Munster manages to break the clinch.
Martinez tries for a takedown but Munster circles away easily
and Munster counters with a crisp one two that drops Martinez! Munster thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Martinez to his feet! Martinez is in big trouble!
Martinez is rocked!
Munster sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Martinez's defenses. It connects perfectly with Martinez's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
