Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chung Bailey (ranked 24716 p4p, 0 weight class) and Skip Scooby (ranked 8037 p4p, 0 weight class). Chung Bailey had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chung Bailey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Skip Scooby!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bailey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Scooby.
It looked like Bailey was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Scooby.
Scooby misses with the combination.
Scooby looks winded!
Scooby misses with a few strikes there.
Bailey seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A telegraphed right hand from Scooby misses the target.
Bailey drops down looking for a counter takedown but Scooby sprawls and moves away.
Scooby will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
An attempted straight right counter from Bailey misses the target.
Scooby fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bailey manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scooby shoots in looking for a takedown but Bailey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Scooby's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Bailey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bailey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bailey wants to stand but Scooby has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bailey gets a takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bailey stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Scooby to get to his feet.
Scooby misses the jab.
Bailey tries to counter with a takedown but Scooby is quick to defend against it.
Scooby tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bailey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scooby somewhat.
Bailey attempts a counter takedown but Scooby avoids it well and moves away.
Chung Bailey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Skip Scooby.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scooby enables Bailey to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scooby manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's time! Bailey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bailey shoots for a double leg takedown but Scooby sprawls well. He's pushed Bailey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bailey shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bailey showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailey is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bailey gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Scooby goes for a takedown attempt but Bailey pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Scooby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bailey is looking to counter punch.
Bailey closes the distance and clinches up with Scooby, looking for a takedown. Bailey pushes Scooby against the cage but Scooby circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chung Bailey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bailey is looking for a counter combo.

Bailey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Scooby's guard.
Bailey is standing up over Scooby. Scooby looks to escape but Bailey dives into side control.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Scooby tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bailey wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bailey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bailey gets to mount! Scooby was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Scooby is looking to get to half guard.
Bailey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bailey is landing with some decent strikes but Scooby is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bailey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scooby can do to turn this around?

Scooby sneaks out the side door and pushes Bailey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Scooby swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bailey goes for a double leg but Scooby avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Scooby continues to drive forward.

Scooby shoots in looking for a takedown. Bailey tries to sprawl out of it but Scooby keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bailey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Skip Scooby will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Horrible takedown attempt by Bailey or perhaps it was just good defense by Scooby, which made it look bad.
Scooby should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Scooby throws a right hand that Bailey ducks under and follows up with a left that Bailey also avoids with ease.
Scooby shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bailey as he jumps to the side.

No joy there for Scooby, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Scooby feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I think Scooby has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
